From The President/CEO

      Dear Friends:

Wesley House Community Services has been a part of the Louisville Community for 114 years.  A caring, committed, and professional staff serve hundreds of
individuals from diverse  groups from all over the world.  “Me casa, Su Casa” is the motto that we embrace as we operate in our family friendly environment.
Programs transform the lives of many of our marginalized clients by providing childcare, youth services, English as a Second Language, Spanish as a Second Language,
arts integrated instruction to prepare pre-school aged children for Kindergarten, Volunteer Tax Assistance, and Dress for Success through Wesley House’s gently used clothing store. All of       these programs are made possible through the generous support of local agencies, individuals, and businesses.

An increase of clients lately has caused an increased need for teachers and volunteers as we strive to meet this need. Clients simultaneously face many challenges and opportunities, and we hope to help them overcome these challenges and take on new opportunities that will propel them into our community as active members.

We are excited about upcoming future events including the June Festival, participation in the “I Am Ali Festival,” which celebrates one of Muhammad Ali’s core principles of giving, our fundraiser the Annual Fashion Show, Walk for Others, and a golf tournament. All these events not only connect those we serve to our community in meaningful ways, but also offers opportunities for local businesses to get involved with making a difference for at-risk families while being recognized for their support. By partnering we can help clients tackle challenges in order to break the cycle of poverty.

Too often the trend in our society is for people to be separated from each other, to be cut off from the great mass of humanity.  “How far that little candle throws its beams. So shines the world” (William Shakespeare). I would like to invite you to be that candle for a person in need.  You can join Wesley House as we “help people help themselves.”
